Acceptable Bank Accounts

Which bank accounts are supported on Wealthy for client investments — live status checker, mandate types, NRI rules, and what to do when a bank is not supported.

Live Bank Status — Always Check First

Bank acceptance differs by Razorpay merchant. Always check the merchant-specific URL before telling a partner or client a bank is supported.

Merchant Live Status URL
Partner Empanelment https://collector.wealthy.in/web/tenants/banks-status/?name=WealthyPartnerEmpanelment
Mutual Funds (lumpsum, mandate, etc.) https://collector.wealthy.in/web/tenants/banks-status/?name=wealthyMFMandate
Broking (WealthyIN Broking Pvt Ltd) https://collector.wealthy.in/web/tenants/banks-status/?name=WealthyinBrokingPrivateLtd
All banks (combined) https://collector.wealthy.in/web/tenants/banks-status/

⚠️ A bank that’s active for one merchant may be inactive for another — never extrapolate. If a bank is not on the relevant merchant’s list, or shows Inactive, it is not supported for that merchant.

What If the Client’s Bank Is Not Supported?

  1. Confirm against the merchant-specific URL — don’t trust memory
  2. If genuinely unsupported or inactive:
    • The bank does not support e-mandate on Wealthy
    • Ask the client to use a different supported bank for investments
    • The unsupported bank can still be linked for KYC / profile purposes, but can’t be used for SIP / mandate

Known unsupported example: Baroda Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank (as of Feb 2026)

Key Rules on Bank Accounts

  • The payment bank account must belong to the same person as the investor
  • “Penny drop” verification — the name returned must match the profile name
  • Name mismatch → bank account rejected → payment reversed
  • If penny drop doesn’t return a name, ops can request a cancelled cheque
  • ₹1 is debited during mandate verification (per mandate setup)

NRI Clients

  • NRI clients must use their Indian NRE or NRO bank account
  • Payments directly from foreign bank accounts are not accepted
  • Only NRE/NRO accounts at Indian banks listed above are supported
